Are you experiencing fear, anxiety, loneliness or confusion? Are you compelled to isolate? Are you telling everyone you are FINE when secretly you are anything but FINE? If so, you are absolutely not alone. Many of us are finding ourselves in this situation. The inclination for many of us during this time is to just stay home until we “get over” what is bothering us. Then we can tell people what we went through (past tense) and how we got through it.
While this strategy may have worked in the past, it it unlikely that it will continue to work now. The reason for this, I am told, is that when we isolate we feel that we are the only ones who are having this (I can’t find my way) experience. We take it personally, as if we have done something wrong. We don’t realize in our isolated state that much of the world is sharing our experience. It is a shared experience, and it will require a shared solution.
I am being encouraged in my own life to surround myself with more support. I have just hired a new coach (thank you God for the support) and I am joining more (in-person) groups and letting people get to know me (warts and all). The result, much more comfort and clarity.
If you could use some support during this time, please contact me. I have openings for one-on-one sessions and I’m always available to facilitate new groups. Money a problem? Scholarships are available periodically throughout the year. Call for more information.
