It’s probably comes as no surprise to those who understand numerology that 2012 is a 5 year because 5 is the number of transformation and change. 
2012 promises to be that and more.
My guides have said that 2012 will bring with it 2 distinct pathways that are available for us. One pathway will be about shedding old skin, letting go of the past so that there is space to allow in the new. The other pathway is one of bright, brilliant new beginnings. Whichever path you choose right now will be the right path for you based on where you are on your own Spiritual Pathway.
I know for me I am looking forward to the Bright and Brilliant New Beginnings since last year seemed to be the year where I let go of most of my old skin. There is always however more to release and the guides have said that no matter which path you walk this year you will experience a bit of both, letting go of the old and embracing the new.
As the old falls away, its important to remember that you are only letting go of that which no longer serves you to make room for something better.
